April 13 marks the Thai New Year, commonly known as Songkran, which is a national holiday celebrated by spending time with family and friends. It’s often celebrated with lively water splashing, where the streets fill with people playfully splashing each other. Although we’re not in Thailand, we had the chance to celebrate Songkran with friends here in Taiwan. Our Thai friend told us about an event held near National Taiwan University at the Gongguan Waterfront Plaza. We all went together and had a great time enjoying good music and delicious food.
