At National Taiwan University, exchange students are paired with a local buddy who helps with the registration process and settling in. On the first day of classes, I met up with my buddy, and he took me to a place that serves traditional Taiwanese cuisine.
At NTU, course registration happens in rounds, where students select their preferred classes, and if space is available, they're enrolled. However, I wasn’t able to successfully register for all the courses I wanted during this period. For students in the same situation, there’s still an opportunity during the first week of school, you can attend the classes you're interested in and ask the professor for a course code. With that code, you can apply online to officially register for the class. That’s what I did to add my fourth course, as I was only able to register for three during the initial rounds.
My class schedule included a break between courses, which gave me some time to connect with my classmates after our first class. We decided to get lunch together, and since we were all unfamiliar with the nearby restaurants, I recommended the place my buddy had taken me earlier for traditional Taiwanese food.
Got to go to Chun Shui Tang which is known as the birthplace of bubble tea and I was able to try it out and it was pretty good. Also got there fried chicken.
Got hotpot after successfully ending the first week of classes.
