When commuting to school, the most convenient way is by taking the MRT. However, the nearest station is about a 22 minute walk from the Yuantong Dormitory. To help with this, there’s a shuttle service available for dorm residents. The image above shows the shuttle timetable. It takes students directly from the dormitory to the station, and it runs quite frequently, which is very convenient. However, please note that the shuttle does not operate between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Here is a map of the campus—but experiencing it in person made me realize just how massive it truly is. The map doesn’t quite do it justice. Walking around that day was especially challenging. Even though it was February and temperatures usually ranged from 65 to 70 degrees, the day of the campus tour there was some sort of heat wave as it hit 85 degrees with strong sun, making it feel even hotter. That day being the first day on campus has me thinking of how hot it could get as we reach the summer months.
This is the NTU library with a beautfiul lawn in the front. Always in amazement every time I see the architecture of the building, the inside is also just as amazing.
During orientation week, there are two orientations. The first is a general orientation for all NTU exchange students, where they shared helpful tips on how to stay safe in Taiwan, recommended places to visit, and explained the de-registration process that we must complete at the end of the semester
The second orientation was specifically for the College of Management. During this session, they provided us with a list of recommended courses that we might be interested in. They also gave us a tour of the College of Management buildings and the various facilities housed within the two buildings that make up the college.
