Humanities gives pupils the chance to explore the world around them at a range of different scales. It combines the traditional subjects of History, Geography and Religious Studies and examines how each of these is interconnected, providing pupils with a holistic and contemporary view of the ‘real world’.
In Humanities, we pose a series of ‘Big’ questions throughout Years 7 & 8 and provide our pupils with the analytical and problem solving skills to answer them.
In Year 6 pupils will have started to explore different Global Goals and Humanities continues with this theme in Year 7 where we ask questions such as: ‘Why does inequality still exist in our world?’, ‘What are the causes of conflict?’ and ‘How essential is water to humanity?’.
Pupils will also have the opportunity to take part in field work with Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, where we will examine what attracts tourists to our local area.
Humanities gives pupils a wide range of opportunities to work in groups and use a range of technologies as part of their studies.
