You will have two opportunities to eat during the school day - at break time or at lunch time. You are also able to eat breakfast in the canteen before the start of the school day.
Our new school will have two food zones on site. - an indoor canteen area with plenty of seating, and two outdoor catering units which will allow you to 'grab and go'. There will always be a member of staff on duty at each food zone, so someone will be around to help if you aren't sure what to do.
Our canteen staff are very friendly and enjoy cooking food that they know our pupils will enjoy. You can buy hot and cold food, including: sandwiches, salad boxes, breakfast baguettes (sausage, egg, bacon etc.), hot meals (lasagne, pizza and chips, roast dinner) as well as lots of snacks such as flapjacks, cookies, yoghurts and fruit.
Lots of pupils prefer to bring their own packed lunch from home, which is absolutely fine. You are still welcome to use the food zones to sit and eat your food.
Please note - we are a 'WATER ONLY' school so pupils are not permitted to bring soft drinks into school.
Our catering outlets are cash-free so you will pay for your food with your fingerprint (biometric) or via a blue and yellow Food Zone card (you will receive information about this in the post from PCC Catering). There is no need for pupils to bring any money to school as parents and carers should 'top-up' cards online here or by phoning 01437 764551. Free school meals application here.
Parents/Carers - please note that there are no coin-loaders on site. you must 'top-up' your child's balance by using the Pembrokeshire County Council Myaccount website.
If you are eligible and have applied for Free School Meals, your card balance will automatically top-up by £2.70 each day. You can use your card at any of our food zones at breakfast, break or lunch time (you don't have to use it all in one go). Remember to use your FSM balance each day, as it doesn't roll over to the next day. Check eligibility and make application for FSM here
