What is Design Thinking? Design Thinking is a process used to solve problems that include five steps. The first step is to empathize. Which means gathering feedback from multiple perspectives to identify the problem. The second step is to define the problem. This involves gathering all of the information from the previous step. That information is used to identify the scope and true nature of the problem. The third step is to Ideate. This means sharing ideas however wild and impractical. An important part of this step is using each other's ideas as triggers for continuing the ideation process. The fourth step is to make a prototype. Prototype means to create a mock-up that shows the proposed solution. The goal of this step is to help the design team figure out what might be unworkable or impractical solutions and focus on the best ideas. The last step is a test. This involves presenting the prototype. The goal of this step is to get feedback that will let the design team know if they have successfully solved the problem or if they need to get back to the drawing board and repeat steps.
