Daily Log
Did planning questions and a list of ten good ideas.
We decided what we would like to sew. We found what fabric we wanted to use then cut the size and shape of the bag that we liked.
I learned how to sew on a random piece of fabric and then we I was conformable I sew my bag.
Then we added straps to my bag and took pictures of the final piece.
These are the final products they vary in different sizes and color but they are manly the same shape.
These are all the images that we captured during to process of making bags for the first time.
This is the video of my project that I created with a sewing machine.
Using the sewing machine, I created a bag because it was something that I have always wanted to do so when I was given the chance I did it and it was fun to do. During this process, I learned how to use the sewing machine but specifically, I learn how to adjust the speed of the sewing machine and the different sewing patterns that you use for different things. The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I decided on the style of the bag. A challenge I overcame on this project was figuring out how to use the different types of speeds. I was able to do it by the process of messing with things and learning how to use them. Given a chance to do this again, I would change the stitch that I used. The reason why I would change it is that depending on the stitch the stronger the bag will become. If it is not a strong stitch pattern the less weight it can hold in the bag.
