Using snap circuits, I created a fan and a light because it was an quick project but also I had never done them before. Doing the fan and light was actually easier than I thought it was going to be. During this process, I learned how to create a fan and light out of snap circuits. I also tried many different things. such as an alarm, music box, and game noise. I enjoyed learning about it and what to connect and what not to connect to make it work. The 7 standards of the class are empowered learner, digital citizen, knowledge constructor, innovative designer, computational thinker, creative communicator, and global collaborator. My project is tied to Empowered Learner. I chose to be an empowered learner because I created a personal goal about learning and the use of technology to achieve the goal. A challenge I overcame on this project was making sure the circuits were in the right place. Or using the right ones. I was able to do it by checking my work. Also by studying the picture before doing the project. If I had the chance to do it again, I would modify the project so that the fan could always run. But the light can turn on and off, but the fan will still run. Like in a house. The reason why I would change it is because the project I did was quick and easy. I would have liked it to be harder to do. Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project is related to electrical engineering careers.
