8P5 - 3d Print

Using a 3d printer and tinker cad, I created a Hot Wheels jump landing thing. I created this because Hot Wheels are awesome and I grew up on them. another reason I created a Hot Wheels landing is because in my previous project I couldn't get the car to land.  

During the process of mastering such a magnificent landing, personally learned a bunch. I learned you can always learn from your mistakes and usually can fix them. Another thing I learned is how to use one of those measuring clamps. 

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to innovative designer because I innovated and designed a cool jump. Another reason I am an innovative designer is because I had a problem and designed something to solve it.

A challenge I overcame on this project was was the sizing. I was able to do it by using a measuring clamp. Another challenge I over came was designing the thing that holds the track in place.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the size. The reason why I would change it is because shooting the video it took more than one attempt to get it perfect. If the funnel part was bigger it would take most of the randomness out of it.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. The reason my project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program is because I used a design software. 

My project connects to careers in industrial designer because industrial designers need to know how to 3d print. Another reason my awesome project ties to industrial designer is because I used a software. Other careers my project ties to are 3D graphics designer/animator adjunct instructor and senior materials engineer (3D printing with metal).
