• Using the camera, and imovie on the iPad(s), I created a commercial for the vending machine because every good product needs some advertisement; a commercial.
• During this process, I learned how to create and edit a commercial.
• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Creative Communicator because we're working on iPads to record and edit videos. Making those commercials helps communicate our project. We edit the videos, and when we are done, we publish (upload to our website) them. Being a creative communicator means you "communicate clearly and express themselves creatively for a variety of purposes using the platforms, tools, styles, formats and digital media appropriate to their goals.", (-from the ISTE Standerds) and that's what we're doing.
• A challenge I overcame on this project was not knowing much about our commercial because I wasn't there. I was able to do it by asking my group members about what happened while I was gone and seeing what they did with our commercial.
• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the commercial itself. The reason why I would change it is because we kinda rushed filming it. I think we'd have a better commercial if we had the chance to redo it, had a bit more time.
• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the marketing (and digital multimedia) CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in marketing such as digital marketing or maybe a Product Manager.
