• Using cardboard, I created a vending machine because me and my other group members thought it'd be a cool idea, we figured no one else would do a vending machine so we thought, hey, let's make a vending machine.
• During this process, I learned how to use cardboard to make a vending machine.
• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to innovative designer because you are being innovative by thinking of an idea, thinking of what to make (out of cardboard), and being a designer by creating your idea.
• A challenge I overcame on this project was being able to make the items in the vending machine fall. I was able to do it by poking holes where the food is, and putting popsicle sticks through those holes, poking the items and making them fall.
• Given a chance to do this again, I would change adding other things into the machine besides just food. For example, maybe books, or school supplies, or other grocery/leisure items. The reason why I would change it is because it'd be cooler.
• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the engineering design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in architecting, .
