7P5- 3d Design

Using Tinkercad I created a dog tag because we have a really bad habit of forgetting our dog outside when we go inside to get something, and we end up forgetting the dog outside and they run away because we have a farm and a big field next top us.

During this process, I learned how to make the grid side the right size when printing, I also learned that when you have holes in your design, you have to scrape the extra filament that got printed.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Digital Citizen because for the dog tag I had to put a phone number on it and I obviously couldn't show the phone number so it's private, and whenever I would take my picture or videos I would have to cover the number up.

A challenge I overcame on this project was trying to get the right dimensions because it had to be a certain size for example it had to be a 3x3. I was able to do it by using the rulers to help measure the sides and to make sure it wasn't going to be to small or to big.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the way I designed the dog tag The reason why I would change it is because I made it to thick, when it was supposed to make it very thin, I thought that since it is sometimes going to be smaller than the PC says but I ended up making it way to thick.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.  

My project connects to careers in Digital Media Specialist because they help organize and they also help manage websites, engaging and helping audiences when it comes down to helping other people manage their websites. My project relates to it because we are using our own websites, and we explain to others and on our website and give explanations on our project.
