Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working with Chloe and Ryan.
What materials will you need for your project?
We will need hot glue, cardboard, scissors and some markers or colored pencils. We also might use paint at home to give it some color.
What is your plan to create in this project?
My plan is to create a functioning fridge that can despence ice into a cup.
What unique qualities will your project have?
We custom made the idea and the idea originally came from a glass of lemonade.
build our website and did our research
created photo and made our groups
Started our projects hot gluing and cutting.
Hot glued the cup for the fridge and did more planning for what we are going to do later in the week.
made different ice cubes that where white to make the ice cube look and we started cutting more smaller peices for the cup and other ice cubes.
Today we made more ice cubes and we added more to the fridge using skewers too. We are trying to make a fold that send the ice through the shoot and into the cup.
We finished up the finishing touches from the fridge and we made a video. We are editing the video with a voice over too.
Using cardboard, hot glue, wood skewers I created a cardboard fridge that actually despences ice because we thought it would be a cool unique idea. the idea originally came from a glass of lemonade.
During this process, I learned that it is good to have a group when working together because three people have a lot more ideas than just one person. It was good to work with people because we all worked together and all added good ideas to the original idea.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to innovative designer because we thought from every aspec of the project. We thought of if the ice got stuck we would add a slot so it didn't, or we would cut the ice cubes down so they would actually work through the slot.
A challenge I overcame on this project was trying to find the starter idea or trying to navigate how to put the cardboard in place so the ice would go directly into the cup. I was able to do it by asking what my partners thought of the ideas or asking for help from them so it wouldn't go wrong and not work.
Given a chance to do this again, I wouldn't change anything The reason why I wouldn't change is because I think it was a good set up for a fridge because it was perfect size for the fridge and for the mechanics inside of it so the ice doesn't get stuck. But I would definetly add more detail and clean it up a little or clean the hot glue up.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the digital multi media CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in graphic designer because we made the ideas and we got materials to hand build it and we got to design it how we wanted to. We got the insparation from a glass of lemonade and turned it into a fridge that can dispense ice.
