Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working with Haley Williamson.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need my iPad, and my Circuit Express thing.
What is your plan to create in this project?
I plan to create codes on a circuit chip.
What unique qualities will your project have?
I am making something different than other people.
Today I made my list of 10 and did my planning questions. I also made the code for the clap lights.
Today I made the clap lights on the Circuit Playground chip.
Today I made the code for the button flipper and also made the video for it. I also made my reflection.
Today I made sure everything was good and turned it in.
Using AdaFruit and the Circuit Playground Express, I created a button flipper and clap lights because we were coding a Circuit Chip and those seemed like the coolest ideas. How the clap lights work is by someone clapping, and then the lights will turn on. For the button flipper you press button A and it either twinkles (which means its good) or it all lights up blue and purple (which means its bad).
During this process, I learned how to reset the Circuit chip. I also learned how to download the code on to my computer so it would connect to the circuit chip. Another thing was learning how to make codes for the circuit chip.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Thinker because I used technology tools to create new designs.
A challenge I overcame on this project was trying to get my code to download onto my computer. I was able to do it by asking someone for help and reading the instructions more carefully. Another challenge was trying to get the chip reset. I was able to do it by getting a new chip and trying again.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the codes I did on the chip. The reason why I would change it is because there were a lot of fun ideas. If I did this project again, I would pick the Egg Game, the Night Light, or the Lucky Wheel.
