7P3-Micro Bit

Using a Micro Bit, micro.bit,com, and an iPad, I created multiple projects including a magic 8 ball, candle, thermometer, and activity picker because they looked interesting to me. I also coded the micro bit to say my name. For example, the magic 8 ball you shake it and it has a check mark, x, or a meh face.

During this process, I learned how to code a Micro Bit and download the code to my Drive and put it in my website. I also learned how to detach audio from a video in iMovie. I also learned how to put my videos in my website folder so it would go onto my website.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Thinker because I used technology tools to create new designs.

A challenge I overcame on this project was sometimes the projects I made would not download. I was able to do it by asking a friend for help or just picking a different project. Another challenge was getting my videos onto my project.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the projects that I did because after I did them, I found more interesting ones or more challenging ones. The reason why I would change it is because it would make me work harder if the codes were more complex. I would also change the amount of time I took to make the codes and add the videos to my website. 

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School.  My project connects to careers in  Entry Level Computer Programmer.
