Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
By myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need an iPad and my PC.
What is your plan to create in this project?
I plan to create a 3D object that will solve a problem that I have in my house.
What unique qualities will your project have?
My design will be different than other peoples.
Today I learned how to move the objects around, and change the size on Tinkercad.
Today I made a phone holder, which might be my final project but I'm not sure yet.
I also made a charger holder, which could also be my final project.
Today I made a pencil holder. This one will probably not be my final project, just because its not as cool as the first ones I made.
Today I made a hairbrush, and I also decided that my final project will be the charger holder.
Today I worked on my reflection.
Today I grouped every shape in my charger holder together, and made sure I had all my things on my website. I also continued to make my reflection.
Today I made an image carousel of all my objects. You will find it at the bottom of this page.👇 I also finished my reflection.
Today I looked over my work and made sure everything was good.
Today I downloaded my 3D design as an stl file so Mr. Renner could print it.
Today I made a video for my project on iMovie.
Using tinkercad.com, I created a holder for my chargers because I always am looking for a charger. The reason that I'm always looking is because I use them and forget where I put them. The charger holder will make it so I'm not always looking for my chargers, I can just look on the holder for one.
During this process, I learned how to change the size and color of different shapes and learned how to group and ungroup my objects. I also learned how to make my thing 3in by 3in so it would be able to print. I also learned how to make a hole in my pencil holder and not make it all the way through so the pencils wouldn't fall out.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Thinker because I used technology tools to create a design.
A challenge I overcame on this project was at first I couldn't get the shapes the right size. I was able to do it by trying again and again. When I gave up, I asked a friend for help. Another challenge was I couldn't think of an object to make that could solve a problem in my house. I was able to do it by looking around my house for problems that needed solving. The last challenge was that I made it too small so I couldn't use it to hold chargers. I overcame it by finding something smaller that it could hold.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the object that I made. The reason why I would change it is because I had a lot of other objects I could have made, like a phone holder and a pencil holder for example. I also would've probably changed the way I made the charger holder and make it cooler. I would need to change the size on it as well because it ended up too small.
