We made our list of 10 ideas and decided what game to make.
We grabbed our supplies and started to make our Hole in One ramp. I used cardboard scissors for the first time.
We added a ramp and a prop to hold our game up. We used duct tape and hot glue.
We painted our project and decorated with glitter that made a big mess.
They added googly eyes to make it sort of Halloweenish. Tomorrow I am bringing the cups.
We added cups and almost finished our game.
Today we made aluminum foil balls and waxed them with crayon.
We made our rules and finalized our game to make it perfect.
Today we started our videos on iMovie.
We made audio recordings for our iMovie video. We also sent a email to our parents about our websites and Mr. Renner's website.
Today we uploaded our video to google drive and made our reflection paragraphs.
Using cardboard, paint, hot glue, and other materials, I created a Skeeball game because our challenge was to make an arcade game out of cardboard. We call our game "Hole in One." Our game will be put upstairs where anyone in the school can play it.
During this process, I learned how to make a game out of cardboard. I also got better at working with a group and coming up with good ideas when we ran into problems.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Constructer because we had to make a project to show we understood the topic. We also had to use tools that we found to make our game.
A challenge I overcame on this project was getting all the cardboard to stay together. I was able to do it by using both hot glue and and duct tape. Another challenge was getting the cups to stay in. We were able to fix it by one person holding them in while another hot glued them to the ramp.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change it to be easier to play. The reason why I would change it is because lots of people tried our game and said it was too hard. I also would change the painting because it doesn't look very good.
