Are you working by yourself or in a team?
By myself
What materials will you need for your project?
3d Printer, computer, Filament
What is your plan to create in this project?
A cool 3d printed item
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will be unique to myself.
Today I worked on my planning questions for my project. I also worked on my list of 10. I started my 3d print design
I worked a little on my design more. I am making a spare part cup for my spare parts from modle klits. I finished my list of 10 today
I worked on the design more today, I made a removable lid and made the text curve around the cointainer. I didnt know how to do that before.
Today I finished my project. I made a container that has a removable screw on lid. I am going to test print it at my house
Today I made some changes to my project. I also finished my reflections for this project.
Today I made my final video. I also finished my relfection sentences. I worked pretty hard on my project. Im happy with how it turned out.
This is a container I made for spare parts. I made it have aa screw on cap, and a flat base so it can stand up-right. I am hoping that when It prints, the threades actually work, because I think they might not. Im pretty Impressed with what I made.
My Reflections:
Using Tinkercad and a 3D printer, I created a spare part container. I made this because I lose alot of my spare parts. This design would help me keep them all in 1 place for futre projects.
During this process, I learned how to use Tinkercad better. I also leaned how to make curved text for my container. This helped me make the next not be in the air, or just be one staight rectangle.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Thinker because I used technology tools to present the solutions to a problem I solved. I also used technology to create 3d models, which a Computational Thinker can do.
A challenge I overcame on this project was my design was set in Millimeters, not inches. I was able to fix it by going into the settings, and changing the units from Milimeters to inches. I also had the problem of me carving holes that were way to big. I fixed this by changing the size of the hole, and regrouping it together and it worked.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change The size of it. The reason why I would change it is because it was smaller than I expected. I would also change this because it might need to be a little bigger for my phone to fit on it.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers different courses. These courses are Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in 3D modeling because they create 3d designs, which I did during this project. I will also have my 3d design 3d printed, which 3D modelers can do. They can do this to see what their item looks like in real life.
