Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
Myself
What materials will you need for your project?
Coding softrware, computer, drone
What is your plan to create in this project?
Alot of cool things my drone can do
What unique qualities will your project have?
Most projects will be unique to myself and very cool.
Today I made my website for this project. I also worked my 10 ideas and my planning questions, I worked on some pretty simple code for the drone to follow. I did not get to test it today.
Today I recoded the video of my drone doing the code I made yesterday. It worked pretty well.
Today I worked more on a final code for my drone. I did not get to test the code today because I ran out of time.
Today I finished my code from last week. I also tested my code, and had to make alot of changes to it. Im going to record my video tomorrow.
Today I recored the video of the code from yesterday. I also got in a group to make a code of a drone race, but we ran out of time to make it.
Today I worked on the final reflections for this project.
Reflections:
Using a drone,my chrombook, and orange hoops. I created code for a drone to follow. I created these projects because I wanted to see what all I could make the drone do. I could make it do flips, go up and down, and follow hoops I set up. I was able to create multiple cool projects with the drone.
During this process, I learned How to code the drone to follow code. I didnt know how to do any of this before-hand. After the 1st day of coding , I got the hang of it, and I could make all sorts of projects.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Constructor. It ties to this because I had to find knowledge on how to code the drone It also ties to Innovative designer because I had to stay with the code until I had complete the code.
A challenge I overcame on this project was the drone kept drifting in the air. I was able to fix this by coding the drone to adapt to the conditions of the area I was in. This resulted in my drone following the code properly. I also had alot of trial and error with the code. I had to test the code multiple times until it was right.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the type of projects and how many I did. The reason why I would change it is because I could have made alot more projects than I did. I also could have made more complicated code for the drone to follow. This would have made the projects more interesting.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. The CTE and my project both deal with coding/programming things. I had to program my drone to follow certain code I made for it.
My project connects to carres in Drone Software Engineering. It connects to this carrer because Drone Software Engineering creates code for a drone to follow. I did this same thing with my project. It also ties to a Drone Roof Inspector. Drone Roof Inspectors have to create code for a drone to go over a houses' roof to see damage. I didnt create code like this, but I probably could have if I wanted to and if the Drone had a camera.
