Planning questions:
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
In a team with Eva Gates
What materials will you need for your project?
Robots, iPad, Computer.
What is your plan to create in this project?
I will create code for robots to follow to make patterns
What unique qualities will your project have?
There will me multiple projects
Today We coded a robot to where it goes in a triangle shape. The code was easy to make, but we needed to make a few attemps to make the code actually work. But its really cool
This Is the Dash moving in a triangle shape. This is a really cool thing we made the robot do. Im suprised with how fast it moved!
Today we tried to make a robot move into a star shape. We got some code done, but it didnt really work. We are going to try tomorrow to fix it.
Today we tried to fix the robot to go into a star shape. We didn't really fix much. It didn't even go into a star shape. We may try to fix it tomorrow.
This is our robot going in a "Star" shape. It went in a squigily line shape. We tried to code it and measure how much it would need to turn., But I don't think we measured quite right.
Today We tried to make a star shape. We didn't get to finish the code. We also didn't get to recording it today. We are going to finish the code and record it tomorrow.
Today we finished our code, but the robot didn't go the way we wanted it to. So tomorrow we are gonna try and fix it, and hopefully, we can make the robot do what we want it to
Today we finally fixed our code and made our robot go in a star shape. The code was a little challenging to make, but we did maker it work. Im glad we got it to work.
This is our robot going in a star shape. This was sort of hard to code, because the code wasn't like Microbit or the CPE. Im glad this turned out.
Reflections:
Using Dash, Sphero EDU, Blocky, And a Sphero Bolt. I made robots follow a certain code because I wanted to make robots follow a certain code to form a patter. I made a robot form patterns like a square, triangle, and a star.
During this process, I learned How to code robots to follow a certain code. I also learned how to make robots say custom sayings. I didn't make any projects with robots saying things, but I found out how to do it!
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Thinker. It ties to this because I had to think ahead for my code to make sure the robot would do what it wanted.
A challenge I overcame on this project was My code was making my robot go in random patterns. I was able to fix it by Looking how much I made the robot turn, and changing it to the opposite. This turned out to be my problem, I was having it turn left instead of having it turn right. I'm glad I figured out how to fix my problem.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how long I spent on the star project. The reason why I would change it is because I feel like if I didn't spend so much time on it, I could have made more projects. I could have made a robot that was dancing to music.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. It ties to this because I had to program my robot to do what I wanted it to
My project connects to careers in Robotic Programming. It ties to this career because they test and modify code for robots to follow. I also made code for my robot to follow. They also use software to create instructions for the robots to follow. I made instructions for my robot to follow.
