Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
Myself
What materials will you need for your project?
Computer Ipad and Microbit
What is your plan to create in this project?
Alot of cool projects on my microbit
What unique qualities will your project have?
Most projects will be unique to myself and very cool.
Today I made a functional dice. When you shake it a random number between 1 and 6 appears. You can change the minimum value and the maximum value.
Today me and Bently Justice made a functional hot potato game. We are able to pass the potato between microbits and it even eliminates the microbit who ends with the potato
Today Bently, Erica, and Me made a red light green light game. The microbits track out movements and can tell when we stop, so it eliminates us.
Today I tried to make snake on my microbit. I couldnt finish the code today, so I will finish the code tomorrow. I hope the code works.
Today I gave up on snake and made a cool game. The goal is to get the led dot into the center of the screen. You try to see how high your score can get
I worked on my reflections today. I didnt not code anything on my microbit.
Relfections:
Using a Mircobit, My computer, and a coding software, I created multiple projects that could be viewed on the microbit. I created them because I wanted to see what the microbit was capable of. I was able to make a-lot of projects with led lights moving. I aslso made functional games that could be played with buttons on the microbit.
During this process, I learned how to make games on the microbit. I learned how to code the game to be functional, and actually keep track of your score. I also learned how to make music on the microbit, but I could not figure out how to get it to playy on my headphones. I also learned how to make games with other microbits, like red light green light and hot potato.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge consturctor. It ties to this because I had to reasearch turorials on how to code some projects. A knowledge constructor can use a browser to find information.
A challenge I overcame on this project was My code not working. I was able to fix this problem by finding where errors were in the code. I was able to fix them, and when I did, the project I was trying to code worked. This helped me make more sucsessful Microbit Projects.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how many projects I did. The reason why I would change it is because I could have made more. I spent alot of time on snake, and it didnt even work. I could have tested the code before coding it myself to see if the game worked. I also would change the type of projects I made because I didn't really make projects with purposes, I just made games, and I feel like I could have made things on the Microbit that have a purpose.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. It ties to this because the Cte and this project involved programming/coding certain things. I had to code my microbit during this project to make it do the things I want.
My project connects to careers in software engineering. It ties to this carrer because they test and build certain sofrware/code. I had to test my code multiple times during this project to make the code right. This project also ties to a Data Scientist because they use code to analyze data. I didn't use code to analyze data, but This project and a Data scientist both invlove coding.
