Using a Micro
, I created a program that makes it display my name, which I set up on the website. I also learned how to send messages to a friend's Micro
, which was really cool and fun to try out. Additionally, I made a Magic Eight Ball and a light detector, giving me a chance to explore different features of the Micro bit and how it can interact with its environment. Each project was unique and taught me something new about coding and electronics. Overall, these projects helped me understand programming better and made learning funner!
During this process, I learned how to program a Micro to display my name, which was exciting and helped me understand the basics of coding and how to interact with the device. I also discovered that the Micro
has a built-in light sensor, allowing it to turn on at different light levels in my environment, which opened my eyes to how technology can help us explore the world around us. Additionally, I created a Magic Eight Ball program, which not only made the project fun but also taught me about randomization in programming, making each interaction unique. Overall, these experiences sparked my interest in exploring more projects with the Micro
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to knowledge constructors because you want to come up with ideas on the micro bit. I also was an innovative designer because I made rock paper scissors into a cheat where you shake the micro bit to do rock paper scissors and instead of it doing rock paper or scissors it says that you win or I made it say you lost to the other person.
A challenge I overcame on this project was figuring out where I had to go to get the letters on the micro bit. I was able to do it by looking at something to help me do it. I figured out that you can look at videos.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the amount of time I was given. The reason why I would change it is because I wanted more time to do my reflection. Also more time so I could do more things.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the technical education CTE program at Hastings High School. Why is because we are coding and working with micro bits to do different things.
My project connects to careers in technical education because we are coding and working with micro bits and computers and aI trying to make are micro bits do different things.
