• I used Adafruit to make a light show that looks like fireworks. I got the idea from the Fourth of July because I really like watching fireworks and it’s a fun way to celebrate America. I wanted to make something that looked cool and felt like a real firework show. It was awesome to see the lights flash and change colors like the ones in the sky. I’m proud of how it turned out, and it made me even more interested in learning how to code and build stuff like this 

• During this project, I learned how to code and how to use Adafruit, which was actually really cool. At first, it was kind of confusing, but once I got the hang of it, it was fun to see the lights do what I programmed. I think learning this stuff could really help me in the future, and who knows—maybe I could get a job as a coder or make my own tech projects someday. 

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project connects to the 'Innovative Designer' standard because I got to code and design something all on my own, turning my idea into a real light show. 

• One challenge I faced in this project was not knowing how to code at first. But I didn't give up I just started messing around with the tools and figured it out by trying different things until I got it right. 

• If I could do this project again, I would use more lights. The reason is that I wanted it to look more like real fireworks, and fireworks have a lot more lights and colors. I think adding more would make it even cooler and closer to what I imagined 

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.  

• My project connects to careers in Software Engineer because a software engineer codes software to make it better and I was coding a software to make what I wanted.
