What I am doing...
Me, Gauge and Weston are all going to make a mechinism that will protect our egg from breaking while dropping it from a high height.
Planning questions...
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working in a team but we are competing to see who will win the egg drop.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need cardboard, an I pad, A hot glue gun, and some poly fill along with a parachute.
What is your plan to create in this project?
My plan is to make a mechanism out of cardboard due to it being very light and make sure it absorbs the speed of it falling via a HUGE parachute.
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will be unique because it will have a absolutely masive parachute to ensure the egg wont break.

Reflection
Using cardboard, hot glue, and a garbage bag I created Chad the egg protector. This is because we wanted to compete in a challenge so we decided to do a egg drop. Weston gave us the idea and we though it was perfect.
During this process, I learned how to prevent eggs from cracking when dropped from a high height. I have tried this in the past but failed. But now I am able to protect an egg well.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Contractor because I didn't know how to increase drag on Chad. I looked up some ideas on google and opted for a garbage bag to act as a parachute. This ended up working well for me.
A challenge I overcame on this project was attaching the parachute. I was able to do it by using alligator clips. This ended up working very well and didn't get lose.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the duct tape. The reason why I would change it is because it was very prone to peeling while I was working on it and was not very durable. I would instead use more hot glue instead of being lazy. This would probably be better than the duct tape.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. This is because we solved a problem of eggs cracking when dropped and we designed a mechanism to prevent it from breaking. That is why our project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program. My project connects to careers in Engineering. This is because we had a problem that eggs crack when they hit the ground so we solved that problem by designing a mechanism.
