8P3 Carboard Challenge

What I am doing.

I am going to make a carboard vr headset that actully works. This will be done by using some spare vr lenses that I have. I am very exited.

I will be working in a team.

What materials will you need for your project?

I will need cardboard, an iPad, siccors, vr lenses and a pc to work on my project.

What is your plan to create in this project?

My plan is to take out the lenses of my old phone vr headset that is really poor quality and turn it into a vr headset made out of cardboard.

What unique qualities will your project have?

It will actully function unlike last year. We want to work on a more refined version of what we made last year.

Reflection.

Using cardboard, spare vr lenses, and a pc. I created a working vr headset made out of cardboard.I did this because I want to make vr very assessable to everyone. I wanted to achieve this goal while also making the user experience good to. Along with making it rugged and comfortable.
During this process, I learned how to better make things assessable to everyone. I was able to achieve this by added Velcro to the top and side strap so that way most people can use the vr headset with ease. Along with that almost everyone has at least a phone so that way most people would be able to use vr.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to because Knowledge Constructor . This is because we didn't how to downlaod a YouTube video as a mp3. We were able to achieve this by looking it up using google. This ended up working for us.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making the vr headset adjustable . I was able to do it by using Velcro. This ended up working for everyone that had a chance to use it.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the Velcro. The reason why I would change it is because it wasn't as strong as I thought it would be. So given a chance to do this again we would 3d print a better mechanism for the headset for better adjustability.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School. This is because we made a game for the headset. Along with using various tech to complete the project. My project connects to careers in vrgineers. Yes this is a real career that people call themselves if they engineer a vr headset. It may sound goofy but I assure you it is a real thing.
