Daily Log:
Day 1: I worked on my planning questions, and my 10 good ideas.
Day 2: We worked on the base and a holder, and we started painting.
Day 3: We finished the other 2 cup holder and finished painting.
Day 4: Worked on uploading the photos and describing what I did each day.
Day 5: Finished video and worked on sentence starters.
Using popsicle sticks, I created a paint brush and a pen holder that has a flat plate form and 3 holders to hold your pens, pencils, and paint brushes because it will be easier to do your homework. For painting too because you could put it right next to your paints and canvas so it is easier to paint.
During this process, I learned how to get better control over a hot glue gun and that they can make mistakes and it is very easy to burn yourself. I also learned how to bend popsicle sticks so I cup make circles for the holders. In the beginning it is very hard to tell how much hot glue to add so I also learned how to tell how much hot glue to add or if i need to take some off.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I set goals for myself to make it better. I also achieved, and chose my goals.
A challenge I overcame on this project was how much hot glue to add and not to add. I was able to do it by practicing over and over on practice pieces. It got easier at the end and at the end I only burnt myself 3 times. Another challenge I over came was gluing the holders down because I was not all even because I was using scissors to cut popsicle sticks. So it was harder to glue the holders down but I learned on the last one to trim the bottom so it glues easier.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the materials. I would of used cardboard for the bottom/ base so it would be flatter. The reason why I would change it is because when I got to thinking I realized that if weat pant gets in their maybe paint will seep through and stain things.
