Using Popsicle sticks, cardboard, and hot glue, I created a tiny house because I wanted to experiment with designing and building houses. I thought this would be fun because I would be doing it with a friend and I got a 2nd try building things with Popsicle sticks. I think this because I was not happy of how it turned out.
During this process, I learned how to design and build a house. I was excited about creating a house because little tiny people and their dog needed a home to live in. I also learned how not to burn myself with the hot glue gun. I learned not to burn by myself from setting it far away from myself when I am not using it.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered learning because I picked my own decisions by picking and choosing them. We also taught are self on how to use popsicle sticks a hole new way.
A challenge I overcame on this project was using the hot glue gun. I was able to do it by paying attention and working carefully not to burn myself. Another challenge I overcame was the door we asked Mr. Renner and Mrs. Eggers of how to make the hole in the door. The door was a challenge because we had to cut a door out and then but the door back on but in a different place.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how I didn't use paint. The reason why I would change it is because I think it needs a little more color. I think we could of made it more difficult id we had more time. Like we could of made a 2nd stories or made more decorations. I also wish we spent more time on the straws because they were really rushed and they don't look that good.
