Daily log:
Day 1: We learned how to use a sewing machine. We picked out my tread and fabric.
Day 2: We started making the bag.
Day 3: We did the handles and finished the bag.
Using a sewing machine, I created a beach bag because one of us wanted to take it on spring break. But we did not finish it before spring break. So now one of use will use it for summer. We also did the beach bag because we did not know how to use the sewing machine and we wanted to learn.
During this process, I learned how to use a sewing machine. I also learned how to create a beach bag. We also learned about the different types of stitches. Tryniti helped use with learning the different stitches and how to work the sewing machine.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered learner because we picked are own decisions by picking and choosing them. I also used a machine I have never used before and it was pretty difficult. So we had to make some difficult decisions.
A challenge I overcame on this project was learning how to use the sewing machine. I was able to do it by asking Tryniti for help. She helped use a lot. Another issue was picking the fabric because their was so many to pick and we had to agree on it.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how fringy the fabric was. The reason why I would change it is because we were rushing to be done and I wish we took the time and fixed it up a little. I also wish we tried something harder than a bag. Or we would of done a different stitch on the the bag.
