Using the sewing machine, I created a pencil pouch . Because my pencils case is getting really old. I wanted a new one for the rest of the year. Maybe I will use it next year.
During this process, I learned how to attach a button to fabric. I also learned how to use the bins correctly. So nothing would fall out of my pencil case. The pins really help with sewing.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I picked my own decisions by picking and choosing them. I also was a Empowered Learner. Because I earned new stitches. I have pride in my work.
A challenge I overcame on this project was attaching the cover to the pouch. I was able to do it by using pins. The pins made it a lot easier to sew. Also the button was hard to het on. Because I have never done that before.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how I put the button on. The reason why I would change it is because it is really lose. And I wish I would of found a different way to get the button on. But the pencil pouch still works.
