8P10- Embroidery and sewing machine

Daily log:

Day 1: I embroidered my name on the fabric.

Day 2: I sewed the edges.

Day 3: I stuffed the pillow and finished sewing.

• Using embroidery and sewing machine, I created a pillow with my name on it. Because my name is not common. So I wanted to have something with my name on it. I also have not made a pillow before so I wanted to try.

• During this process, I learned how to stuff a pillow. Like of how much stuffing you need. Or if you need to take some out. It was a lot of fun learning how to make a pillow.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I picked my own decisions by picking and choosing them. I also was a Empowered Learner. Because I earned new stitches. I have pride in my work.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was the stuffing. I was able to do it by getting Shiloh's help. She provided the stuffing for me. But it was still not enough. So my pillow is really flat.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the stuffing. I would put more in it. The reason why I would change it is because it is really flat. Another thing I would change is the stitching I wish I would of used a pretty stitch so the pillow would look better.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in décor maker, interior designer, and embroiderer.
