Using a embroidery machine, I created a embroidery design because it was a great learning opportunity of how to use a embroidery machine and it was a great opportunity to try something new and fun. I also created it because it was a easy and fun design. In was easy because we did not have to create a design all the flowers, hearts, and clovers were all ready designs in the embroidery machine. I also learned about how to change the needle and thread.
During this process, I learned how to use a embroidery machine. I learned to cut the fabric then put it in the hoop. Then to hock it up to the machine. Then I learned to thread the machine. I also learned the differences between each kinds of thread. We also learned to use the screen and how to pick a design. we also learned how to put multiple designs in one canvas. W learned how to change a needle and the tread and the bobbin thread. With help from Mrs. Linnet.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered learner because I created a personal goal about learning and the use of technology to achieve the goal. I have pride in my work. The goal was to learn how to use the machine which I did. We learned many other things to like names of things like the thread and other things too.
A challenge I overcame on this project was the tread kept breaking or the needles. I was able to do it by Mrs. Linnet help she was a lot of help we would of not of known how to change the needle if we asked for her help or if Mr. Renner told us to go get her help. Also for the thread we would not of been ably to do it id she taught use how to thread the machine. Also the thread kept breaking a lot because Mr. Renner bought the wrong thread for the embroidery machine.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the colors. The reason why I would change it is because we did all pink and I wish we would of done more colors like blue, yellow, orange, and purple. I feel like it was really plan I wanted it more colorful and fun. I also would of changed the design to something more complex/ harder. I wish we would of made are own design like we could of done dogs, cats, and goats.
