To the right are my levels. The first one might look similar because it was the last level I did for my 8P3. I just added a lot more stuff onto it. And to my left is me completing the whole level, with one of my classmates apparently having trouble staying still while recording me.
Using the app called Bloxels on an iPad and the board, I added onto a level I already completed because I was trying to see if you can make a level longer and I did it. So I decided to create a very tiny story in the level. I would save C3-PO, and then he would tell me to save R2-D2. Then, he would tell me to save 2 guys. And in-between all of that I would have to get a key and open the locked door that would open to the next part.
During this process, I learned you can expand a level forever, I also used all of the different coding blocks that it gave me. Maybe for my last project I will add to this some more, and have this be very long. But then I do not know what I would put in this paragraph. But I bet I could come up with something. Another thing I learned is that I could customize my level. You might be wondering, no you did not. Well, for the 3rd level, the first 3 jumps up I customized. And the spike wall in the 2nd and 3rd one I customized to not look weird.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I designed my levels in a different way than anybody else did. I could also say that it also connects to Empowered Learner because I could of done what I did for my 3rd project in 8th grade and do 4 separate levels. But I decide to add on one and create into 5 parts.
A challenge I overcame on this project was what kind of design I would do for my project. I was to solve it by thinking in my brain what would look good. Then I decided that the 2nd part would have a land then water pattern on the ground and just a spike wall on one side. Then the 3rd part would be a parkour style with spiked walls on both sider and a key on the top. The 4th and 5th one would look like a railroad base type with some enemies.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the locked doors and how many enemies there was in every part. The reason why I would change it is because I would mess up and open the wrong door and have to restart the level. I would change the number of enemies because there was barely any, I should of had the second part with no water and just land with a bunch of enemies.
