I am using Code.org to learn more about coding. This is my Java script code and the video is the 1x1 square.
The video on my right is the Java Script and the video on the left is my 1x1, The reason this is different is because I had to make a 1x1 by only moving forward and right. There was no code block to go right.
The video in the right is me making a plus sign with a new block that is called a function. The one on the left is my Java script.
The video on the right is me using the coding on the left to make a rectangle.
Using Code.org, I coded making a square and rectangles because I wanted to learn more about coding and I found Code.org. It looks hard, but once you get the hang of it, it is super easy. All the once that made me go right was easy, but long. After a bit of coding, it gave me the JavaScript. It made things easier, but it was still long.
During this process, I learned how to code and use the JavaScript on Code.org. I might go back in a couple of weeks and learn some more coding, or not. I did not know what the JavaScript was until I tried it out, so that is another thing I found out about. When it asked me to code the arrow to make a right square, I did not know what it meant because there was no right coding block.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I chose I wanted to learn more about coding so I chose to go to Code.org and learn about coding and the JavaScript.
A challenge I overcame on this project was coding the arrow to make a one by one square by only going straight and going right. I was able to do it by going straight and turning left 3 times. The coding was long, and I thought it was the only way. Then when they introduced the JavaScript, it was became shorter but it was still long.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change what I did. The reason why I would change it is because it was so long and a waste of time, I learned, but I was doing the same thing for 15 minutes. So I wanted to learn something else. Also I would lean another way to make a right square because the coding took too long.
