This is my failed design. My measurement on the bottom was too small so the 3D printer did not render it in. Since I did not have a bottom, my item was sliding all over the place so my teacher removed it.
This my design, the measurement is perfect and it can hold pencils and toothbrushes. If you do not know what this is, this is a pencil/toothbrush holder.

Are you working by yourself or in a team?
Solo, I am doing this by myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
The 3D printer.
What is your creation for this project?
A toothbrush holder.
Using Tinkercad on the computer, I created a toothbrush/pencil holder because at home for toothbrushes, we always don't know which is whose because the dentist always gives us the same color for our toothbrush. Also we always lose our pencils all around the house so if we have a pencil holder then we can keep all of our pencils in one place.
During this process, I learned that you always need a bottom on everything while 3D printing and that the 3D printer doesn't add a part in when it is 0.01 millimeter thick. I also learned how small a millimeter is compared to a centimeter and an inch. I
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I chose what I was about to learn.
A challenge I overcame on this project was the measurements and how big the bottom would be. I was able to do it by learning how big a millimeter is to a centimeter. I grabbed a ruler that was in the classroom and searched up on Google. I put in 50 millimeters to centimeters, and I said 5 centimeters, I measured that on the ruler, and I increased the measurement and sent the .STL to my teacher.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the thing I am making. The reason why I would change it is because it is boring and not creative. A toothbrush holder is just boring. Soon I am going to see how to make a mug or a very small chair.
