The Color Guard team holds the honor and responsibility for presenting and protecting the national colors, as well as the state and/or organization flag. The team is often called upon for local events whether at school or community that include presenting the colors. Color Guard also participates in various competitions, in which members of this team are required to learn and understand general Air Force knowledge and protocols, general state knowledge, and government Chain of Command. Due to the extent of the activities of the Color Guard it is regarded as one of, if not, the most prestigious team.
Honor Guard, although existing prior in the corps, has had a fresh new start this year. We are a first squad only team, which performs ceremonies such as POW/MIA during military ball, and presents the colors during certain events. We are extremely close with and similar to Color Guard. Just like them, we master drill with both rifles and flags to honor our nation. We value those who are committed to the team and are willing to dedicate their time and effort to become proficient with their weapons. Meetings usually take place twice a week during school hours, so it is a great team to join if you are unable to stay for after school AFJROTC. During our practice times, we often give proficient cadets opportunities to lead their fellow team members in order to teach discipline and leadership skills useful for both life and in corps activities. If you are a disciplined first squadron cadet, willing to learn, and wanting to honor their country, then Honor Guard is a great team to join
