Getting help
Short Answer: Optimize Battery Charging is turned on and aims: "To reduce battery aging, your Mac learns from your daily charging routine so it can wait to finish charging past 80% until you need to use it on battery."

Don't try to put it back on. You might damage the laptop.
Take extra special care with your laptop as it now doesn't have a protective case.
Bring it to the IT Offices
Restart your computer and try again. If that doesn’t work try the following:
Test in Photo Booth
Launch Photo Booth. This is a built in app. If the camera still is not recognized this is a hardware issue that can be repaired.
In terms of joining Google meets and being part of the digital class you can watch, listen, and interact with the class. The only limitation is you cannot be on camera.
If the camera works in PhotoBooth, it’s a permission issue on your user account. Try:

Follow these instructions
If it still fails then:
Login to studentlocal
Logout of your account by clicking on the Apple in the upper-left corner.
At the login screen click “login with local account on top right” (You may have to click Switch User first) or click on this icon
Enter studentlocal for the username and hellohello for the password
You can login to Chrome and have access to all your Google Documents (Follow these instructions)
If Photo Booth fails in studentlocal
Shut the laptop down completely.
Do NOT remove the case from the laptop. They are difficult to put on, and you can damage the laptop trying.
Use an alcohol based wipe, lightly moist. Purell wipes work well. (Not Clorox.)
A micro-fiber cloth lightly moistened with rubbing alcohol is also effective.
Wipe the laptop down gently.
Restart your computer and try again. If that doesn’t work try the following:
Test in Voice Memos
Launch Voice Memos. This is a built in app. Record yourself.
If the mic works in Voice Memos, it’s a permission issue.
Reset your Google Chrome Account
Follow these instructions
If Voice Memos fails to record sound, login to studentlocal
Logout of your account by clicking on the Apple in the upper-left corner.

Enter studentlocal for the username and hellohello for the password
Open Voice Memos and record yourself.
If it records you:

If Voice Memos fails in studentlocal

Make sure both the printer and the laptop are connected to the same WiFi.
On the laptop, open the System Preferences (Click the Apple in the top left corner)
Select "Printers & Scanners"
Click the "+" at the bottom of the list of printers.
Your printer should show up in the list that comes up. You can select and follow the prompts.
Prompted to install a special driver that requires an administrative password: Use AirPrint as the driver to get around this.
If you cannot get the printer installed, you can login to your student’s Harding accounts on your home computer to print out items.
TURN IT OFF IMMEDIATELY BY HOLDING DOWN THE POWER BUTTON UNTIL IT TURNS OFF.
Do not try to dry it out.
Email helpdesk@hardingacademy.us to arrange to pickup a loaner laptop.
If you turn it off immediately we can most likely save the laptop.
Laptops with liquid get destroyed when the liquid shorts out the powered-on laptop.

Grade 4-5 students have email but can only email Harding teachers (hardingacademy.us) and Harding students (hardingacademy.me).
Students grade K-3 do not have an email address.
If you need to transfer something to your student's laptop and your personal device you can login to your email on your student's Harding device or have your (Grade 4-5) student login to his or her Harding Gmail on your device.
