I hope you've all had a wonderful week! It’s hard to believe, but we are quickly approaching the end of the first nine weeks of the school year already nearly 25% of the way through. Time is truly flying!
As we near this important milestone, I encourage you to take a moment to check in with your student about how their year is going so far. Ask them about their classes, what they’re learning, the challenges they might be facing, and the goals they’ve set for themselves. These daily conversations, however brief, can make a big difference in helping students stay motivated, supported, and connected to their learning.
Thank you for your continued involvement and support. Let’s finish this first quarter strong!

Please slow down in the car rider line. We have many people in that area each morning who are crossing the parking lot.
Car riders are in one lane only and should not go around the cars in front of them. We have many students who exit their cars on the driver side.
As a reminder, permission forms for our upcoming afterschool football tailgate social are due Tuesday, September 30. Students should turn in completed forms and money to their homeroom teacher.

Why do we need coaches? Adults bring the program to life for the students by sharing real life experiences. Our volunteers provide those "aha" moments as they help students discover the value of themselves, their education, and their future possibilities! If you have held a job or paid a bill, you will be a valuable volunteer. Check out our Volunteer Video to see a preview of the day.
*Parking, Coffee, Day-of Training, and Lunch provided to all volunteers!

Becker consistently goes above and beyond to help her students by tutoring (almost every morning) and making tutorial videos. She leads the Math content well by sharing resources, leading effective meetings, and giving feedback. Becker is an awesome co-worker because she is dependable, knowledgeable, and upbeat! She creates a classroom environment where everyone feels valued and motivated! She always has meaningful quotes on her door and is trying to inspire her students.
Mr. McKellar currently works in our technology department. He works diligently to fix school chromebooks, and any/all other issues that may arise with technology. Along with that, he works even harder at things like building relationships and supporting adults/kids here at NHMS. Mr. McKellar is always willing to do whatever needs to be done for the school to be successful. Thank you for all you do!
