Tips for Families:

Stress Excellence, Not Perfection

Families want their students to do their best in school. But that’s different than demanding that your teen be the best. Striving for excellence is healthy and motivating. Insisting on perfection is unrealistic and stressful. It can also be harmful.

If either you or your teen is a perfectionist, it’s not too late to relax a little. Try learning something new together. You'll both probably make some mistakes. Adopt a realistic attitude about them.

Mistakes don’t mean you or your teen is a failure. They mean you’re human. They also let you know what you need to learn.

If your teen has a hard time believing that improvement is possible through trial and error, demonstrate that it is. Pull out scrapbooks, photographs or videos of your teen's earliest attempts at various tasks that are easy now. You might also point out the kind of book your student could read two years ago, compared with now.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: 

Middle School Athletics: Hall County School District Middle School Sporting Events will have an admission price of $5 per ticket. There will be a flat fee of $15 for a family of three or more.

Car Rider Procedures:

In the morning, we will only have 1 line. This will allow our staff to enter the parking lot. Please do not pass the car in line in front of you as students may be exiting on the driver's side. We want all students to arrive safely.  In the afternoon, we will have 2 lines to get traffic off Fran Mar as soon as possible. We will merge in a zipper format in the afternoon at the indicated merge point. Thank you!

Insurance:

The HCSD offers student insurance through the company, Student Assurance Services. This insurance is supplemental to a family’s primary provider and will assist with added costs in certain situations. For more details, please refer to…

ATTENDANCE COUNTS :  Please ensure that your student is present at school each and every day possible from the beginning of the school day until the last bell.  Schedule appointments after school or on the weekends if possible.

Consejos para Familias:

Fomente Excelencia, No Perfección

Las familias quieren que sus estudiantes se esfuercen al máximo en la escuela. Pero eso es diferente a exigirles que sean los mejores. Luchar por la excelencia es saludable y motivador. Insistir en la perfección es poco realista y estresante. Incluso puede ser perjudicial.

Si tanto tú como tu adolescente son perfeccionistas, aún están a tiempo de relajar un poco. Intentad aprender algo nuevo juntos. Probablemente ambos cometerán algunos errores. Adopta una actitud realista ante ellos.

Cometer errores no significa que tú o tu adolescente sean un fracaso. Significa que son humanos. Además, les permiten saber qué necesitan aprender.

Si a tu adolescente le cuesta creer que se puede mejorar a base de prueba y error, demuéstraselo. Saca álbumes de recortes, fotografías o vídeos de sus primeros intentos en diversas tareas que ahora le resultan fáciles. También puedes mostrarle el tipo de libros que leía hace dos años, en comparación con los que lee ahora.

INFORMACIÓN IMPORTANTE:

Atletismo en Escuelas Intermedias: Los Eventos Deportivos de Escuelas Intermedias del Distrito Escolar del Condado de Hall tendrán un precio de entrada de $5 por boleto. Habrá una tarifa fija de $15 para una familia de tres o más.

Procedimientos para Pasajeros por Carro:

Por la mañana, solo tendremos 1 línea. Esto permitirá que nuestro personal ingrese al estacionamiento. Por favor, no pase el automóvil en línea frente a usted ya que los estudiantes pueden estar saliendo del lado del conductor. Queremos que todos los estudiantes lleguen seguros. Por la tarde dispondremos de 2 líneas para sacar el tráfico de Fran Mar lo antes posible. Vamos a confluir en formato cremallera por la tarde en el punto de fusión indicado. ¡Gracias!
