Tip for Families:

Teachers Have Suggestions for Helping Your Teen Succeed

Students do better in school when families and teachers work together. Here are some things teachers encourage families to do to support student success:

• Help your teen get to school on time. When students are even a few minutes late, it affects their learning. 

• Enforce a daily study time. Make it clear that schoolwork is a priority. If no assignments are due the next day, your teen can read or review.

• Resist doing assignments for your teen. When your student needs help, work through sample problems together. Explain a difficult concept if you can, or encourage your student to think of strategies for getting help (calling a friend, looking online for a video explanation, etc.)

• Keep teachers up-to-date on changes in your teen's life. Experiences such as a death, illness or divorce in the family or moving to a new home can affect performance in school.

• Stay involved with school activities as your teen grows older. Kids of all ages need to see that their families are interested and supportive.

• Remember that there are two sides to every story. If your teen tells you about a conflict with a teacher, be sure to ask for and listen to the teacher's explanation, too.

• Read notes sent home from school in a timely way. It may be helpful or necessary to respond.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: 

Middle School Athletics: Hall County School District Middle School Sporting Events will have an admission price of $5 per ticket. There will be a flat fee of $15 for a family of three or more.

Car Rider Procedures:

In the morning, we will only have 1 line. This will allow our staff to enter the parking lot. Please do not pass the car in line in front of you as students may be exiting on the driver's side. We want all students to arrive safely.  In the afternoon, we will have 2 lines to get traffic off Fran Mar as soon as possible. We will merge in a zipper format in the afternoon at the indicated merge point. Thank you!

Insurance:

The HCSD offers student insurance through the company, Student Assurance Services. This insurance is supplemental to a family’s primary provider and will assist with added costs in certain situations. For more details, please refer to…

ATTENDANCE COUNTS :  Please ensure that your student is present at school each and every day possible from the beginning of the school day until the last bell.  Schedule appointments after school or on the weekends if possible.

BUS INFORMATION  from our transportation department - Students may not ride home with other students.  Also, if you have questions about routes, please call our district transportation department at 770-287-0942.

Consejos para Familias:

Maestros Tienen Sugerencias para Ayudar a Su Adolescente Tener Éxito

Etudiantes obtienen mejores resultados escolares cuando las familias y los maestros trabajan juntos. Aquí hay algunas cosas que los maestros animan a las familias a hacer para apoyar el éxito estudiantil:

• Ayude a su adolescente a llegar puntual a la escuela. Incluso con unos minutos de retraso, su aprendizaje se ve afectado.

• Haz cumplir un horario de estudio diario. Deje claro que las tareas escolares son una prioridad. Si no hay tareas para el día siguiente, su adolescente puede leer o repasar.

• Evite hacer tareas por su adolescente. Cuando necesite ayuda, resuelvan juntos problemas de ejemplo. Si puede, explíquele un concepto difícil o anímelo a pensar en estrategias para obtener ayuda (llamar a un amigo, buscar una explicación en video en línea, etc.).

• Mantenga a los maestros al tanto de los cambios en la vida de su adolescente. Experiencias como una muerte, una enfermedad o un divorcio en la familia, o una mudanza, pueden afectar su rendimiento escolar.

• Manténgase involucrado en las actividades escolares a medida que su adolescente crece. Los niños de todas las edades necesitan ver que sus familias se interesan y los apoyan.

• Recuerda que cada historia tiene dos lados. Si tu adolescente te cuenta que tuvo un conflicto con un maestro, asegúrate de pedirle y escuchar también su explicación.

• Lea las notas enviadas desde la escuela a casa de manera oportuna. Responder podría ser útil o necesario.

INFORMACIÓN IMPORTANTE:

Atletismo en Escuelas Intermedias: Los Eventos Deportivos de Escuelas Intermedias del Distrito Escolar del Condado de Hall tendrán un precio de entrada de $5 por boleto. Habrá una tarifa fija de $15 para una familia de tres o más.

Procedimientos para Pasajeros por Carro:

Por la mañana, solo tendremos 1 línea. Esto permitirá que nuestro personal ingrese al estacionamiento. Por favor, no pase el automóvil en línea frente a usted ya que los estudiantes pueden estar saliendo del lado del conductor. Queremos que todos los estudiantes lleguen seguros. Por la tarde dispondremos de 2 líneas para sacar el tráfico de Fran Mar lo antes posible. Vamos a confluir en formato cremallera por la tarde en el punto de fusión indicado. ¡Gracias!
