Tip for Families:

Encourage Study Habits That Boost Concentration

Does your teen sit down to study, but then spend most of the time daydreaming or doodling?

Teens don't always know how to concentrate. They may read a passage and then discover they have no idea what was on the page.

Share these tips with your teen to strengthen powers of concentration:

• Stick to a routine. Teens who have trouble concentrating benefit from studying in the same place and at the same time. It helps them say to themselves, "Ok, it's time to pay attention."

• Study in a quiet place. Many teens want to study with music playing. But studies show that even soft music can be distracting.

• Ask questions. Before starting to read, your teen can write some questions that the reading may answer. Your student is more likely to concentrate while reading to find the answers.

• Schedule regular study breaks. Encourage your teen to take a five-minute break every hour or so to get up and walk around, get a drink of water and re-energize.

• Take notes in class. This is one of the best ways for your teen to stay focused on what the teacher is saying.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: 

Middle School Athletics: Hall County School District Middle School Sporting Events will have an admission price of $5 per ticket. There will be a flat fee of $15 for a family of three or more.

Car Rider Procedures:

In the morning, we will only have 1 line. This will allow our staff to enter the parking lot. Please do not pass the car in line in front of you as students may be exiting on the driver's side. We want all students to arrive safely.  In the afternoon, we will have 2 lines to get traffic off Fran Mar as soon as possible. We will merge in a zipper format in the afternoon at the indicated merge point. Thank you!

Insurance:

The HCSD offers student insurance through the company, Student Assurance Services. This insurance is supplemental to a family’s primary provider and will assist with added costs in certain situations. For more details, please refer to…

Consejos para Familias:

Fomenta Hábitos de Estudio Que Potencien Concentración

¿Tu adolescente se sienta a estudiar, pero luego pasa la mayor parte del tiempo soñando despierto o dibujando?

Adolescentes no siempre saben concentrarse. Pueden leer un pasaje y luego descubrir que no tienen ni idea de lo que decía la página.

Comparte estos consejos con tu adolescente para fortalecer su capacidad de concentración:

• Mantén una rutina. Adolescentes con dificultad para concentrarse se benefician de estudiar en el mismo lugar y a la misma hora. Les ayuda a decirse a sí mismos: "Bueno, es hora de prestar atención".

• Estudia en un lugar silencioso. Muchos adolescentes prefieren estudiar con música. Sin embargo, los estudios demuestran que incluso la música suave puede distraer.

• Haga preguntas. Antes de empezar a leer, su adolescente puede escribir algunas preguntas que la lectura podría responder. Es más probable que se concentre mientras lee para encontrar las respuestas.

• Programa descansos regulares de estudio. Anima a tu adolescente a tomar un descanso de cinco minutos cada hora aproximadamente para levantarse, caminar un poco, beber agua y recargar energías.

• Toma apuntes en clase. Es una de las mejores maneras de que tu adolescente se concentre en lo que dice el maestro.

Atletismo en Escuelas Intermedias: Los Eventos Deportivos de Escuelas Intermedias del Distrito Escolar del Condado de Hall tendrán un precio de entrada de $5 por boleto. Habrá una tarifa fija de $15 para una familia de tres o más.

Procedimientos para Pasajeros por Carro:

Por la mañana, solo tendremos 1 línea. Esto permitirá que nuestro personal ingrese al estacionamiento. Por favor, no pase el automóvil en línea frente a usted ya que los estudiantes pueden estar saliendo del lado del conductor. Queremos que todos los estudiantes lleguen seguros. Por la tarde dispondremos de 2 líneas para sacar el tráfico de Fran Mar lo antes posible. Vamos a confluir en formato cremallera por la tarde en el punto de fusión indicado. ¡Gracias!
