Parent & Family Engagement
As one of our School Improvement Plan (SIP) goals for the 2024-2025 school year is to increase Parent & Family Engagement across the school. Education researcher John Hattie found that parental engagement in a child's education has a consistent effect size of 0.50 on student achievement. What this means is that when parents and schools partner, communicate and work together to educate a child, the growth is greater than if the parent and school are NOT partners. As we strive to partner with parents and families in an intentional way, we look forward to hosting Parent Workshops for Math and Literacy each quarter. We began with out first Math Workshop on Monday, Sept. 9 with a great group of parents and we look forward to Wednesday, Sept 11 for our first Literacy Workshop. Please join us from 10:45 to 11:30 to learn about what Literacy looks like in the classroom and how you can support your child at home as they develop their reading skills. Each workshop is filled with discussion and ideas that you can use at home. We receive your feedback about what you and your child need to further develop skills at home and we plan the workshops according to parent feedback. Please join us by scanning the QR code to the left and signing up. We cannot wait to partner with you!!
Sardis PTO Meeting will be Thursday, September 12 at 6:00 pm. Please join us in the Media Center.
Ms. Julie is thankful for the clinic supplies.
Business Partner- Corinth Baptist Church
One of our business partners, Corinth Baptist Church has recently donated much needed supplies to our clinic. They have stocked our clinic with supplies that are used daily as Ms. Julie takes care of all Bobcats, big and small. We would like to extend a very special Thank You to Corinth Baptist Church and their generous donation.
Business partners are essential for our day to day success. If you are interested in becoming a Sardis business partner, please let Mr. Carter or Mrs. Nicholson know. The school number is 770-532-0104.
