Georgia Department of Education Family Survey
Bobcat Families are asked to complete a Family Survey each year. This survey is important to us because it helps us measure what our families think about the school and helps us make decisions and improvements in the school. MAP Growth test reports will come home this week along with your child's report card. The Family Report is an informative report that helps explain your child's performance on the MAP assessment. Please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher is you would like more information that the report does not provide.

For our English Language Learners, Access Testing will begin this month. ACCESS for ELLs," is a standardized assessment used to measure the English language proficiency of students identified as English Language Learners (ELLs) in grades K-12, evaluating their abilities in listening, speaking, reading, and writing to monitor their progress in acquiring academic English skills; it is administered annually and aligns with the WIDA English Language Development Standards

David Westbrook, 5th grader in Mr. Pelham's homeroom finished in 1st place in the Sardis Spelling Bee and 4th grader, Eli Correa finished in 2nd place in the Sardis Spelling Bee. This week, David represented Sardis in the Hall County Spelling Bee. Congratulations to David and also to Eli.

Reading and Math Celebrations
Students in grades 1st through 5th who have met individual reading and math goals will be celebrated on Friday, January 17, in the gym. Invitations will be sent home for students who have met their goals. See below for grade levels and celebration times.
5th grade- 8:15-8:45
3rd & 4th grades- 9:00-9:45
1st & 2nd grades- 10:00-10:45

When parents support their children's learning at home and through partnership with the school, learning grows exponentially. Many families have been attending our Parent & Family Workshops. Congratulations to your child for the progress they have made in reading and math this year.
