As the year closes Christmas break is right around the corner, Hackettstown celebrates its annual Hometown Holiday. The Hackettstown Business Improvement District (BID) hosts the celebration and encourages visiting and viewing local activities and restaurants across Main Street.
From December 6th to December 7th, the festivities included a Santa Parade from Plane Street to Moore Street (which comprised of the Colonial Musketeers Senior Fife and Drum Corps, Hackettstown School District bands, and several other attendees), a Holiday Bazaar Food & Shopping Tent behind Stella G’s, Hackettstown Public Library and Hackettstown Historical Society open house events, Community Christmas Carol Sing Alongs and activities in Centenary University’s Seay Building, and several other gatherings.
The Main Street Gazebo also housed a NJ Civic Ballet Performance and Hackettstown High School and Hackettstown Middle School Ensemble performances. The late opening of the businesses and brightly lit trees across Main Street attracted a substantial amount of visitors from the local community.
On Saturday, December 7th, the Community Recreational Center presented a Santa Winter Wonderland with Santas, treats, and goodies on display. The events and participation demonstrate another successful annual tradition and the value Hometown Holidays brings to the local community.
