The Mini Carnival is back! It has been a longstanding tradition for members of The Hackettstown Key Club to present a mini carnival to benefit the ARC of Warren County. On Saturday, March 8th, our very own High School gym was filled once again with fun activities for our community. Children and adults of all ages and abilities enjoyed homemade games, face painting, balloon art, basketball, and so much more. The carnival was amusing not only for the participants, but for the helpers as well. Key Club member, Lily Dejesus, a station leader for the night stated, “...being able to have a good time with a bunch of different people was such a great experience!” With all kinds of different people and activities, the gym was filled with excitement!
For 70 years, The ARC of Warren County has been working to protect the rights of people with disabilities. Their mission is to ‘drive change and build a future of inclusive work, play, worship, community, travel, and more.’ On average, they serve 1,110 people annually in our community with over 25 community programs. Many individuals have shared their appreciation for the foundation and express how the organization has impacted their lives personally. Diverse testimonials have been posted on their website, attesting their gratitude and thanks for all the community service that has been done.
Over $800 and awareness was raised on Saturday’s event. “I just want to thank Kaitlyn McSweeney, Katelyn Brameyer and Ava Fiedler and all of The Hackettstown Key Club members for all of their hard work and dedication. I truly hope that we can work together next year. Also, thank you to the Kiwanis Club for attending,” says Annamarie Lalevee, administrator for the ARC of Warren County. Without both the Key Club and the ARC foundation’s help, the community wouldn’t be able to enjoy these inclusive and fun events.
