Introducing the HACC C.A.R.E Center Team

Welcome Emmanuella Brown and Nancy Moya as the new CARE Coordinators for our HACC C.A.R.E Center. They will provide individualized triage/case management to our HACC student population across a broad range of presenting basic need issues such as food and housing insecurity, transportation, child care etc. The Coordinators will serve as a single point of contact for students dealing with non-academic barriers that hinder their academic success. Please reach out to them and make them feel welcome!

Emmanuella Brown, MSW is new to higher education and has a background mostly working in the mental health world. Emmanuella’s most current previous position was as a family-based therapist, where she experienced working with the needs of families, and working throughout inpatient facilities with children and adults. She has also had the opportunity to work with the homeless population in Lancaster county while interning for Tabor Community Services.

Emmanuella is very excited to work with HACC students through the new CARE Center, as she can relate to being a college student, balancing life and its challenges while trying to graduate. She is prepared to help as best as she can and wants to see all of our students succeed!

Nancy Moya began her journey at HACC as an ESL student in 2011, and with help from her amazing professors and family support she graduated in 2015 with an Associate in Psychology. In 2017 she obtained bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Nancy is currently completing the requirements for her Masters of Social Work. She has worked as a research assistant at Lehigh University, where her passion for working within her community was born. She also has experience working at an outreach clinic in Harrisburg city, which served people experiencing homelessness and immigrant families that came from all over the world and she has worked at the Pennsylvania Psychiatrist Institute on inpatient units, admissions department and served as the point between emergency rooms and PPI inpatient units. Nancy is thankful to have the opportunity to work for HACC, that gave her more than a degree. She is honored to be part of the HACC team while doing work that she loves while working with the surrounding HACC communities.
