Introduction
Gent, or Ghent is a city in Flanders (Belgium). It is a historic city filled with old houses, medieval churches, and canals. It is also one of the traditional capitals of Flanders. In the late middle ages, the city was one of the richest in the world, gaining wealth from merchants.
Our experience
Our stop in Gent only lasted for about an hour. We went for a quick tour of the city centre, saw several churches, and Belfort, the bell tower, which is on the UNESCO list. The time constrains meant that we couldn't enjoy the city as much as we would've liked to. Yes, rather unfortunate, but at least our journey towards Cornwall wasn't as boring.
