DARTMOOR
Rudolfová Eliška
On Monday afternoon we visited Dartmoor. It’s a beautiful national park, located in Devon in the southwest of England. It offers a diverse and picturesque scenery—from harsh and gloomy wetlands to beautiful river valleys and charming villages with thatched cottages typical of the Devon countryside. I’d say the best part was when it got so unbreathable in the coach we had to stop in the middle of nowhere to let some fresh air in and there were wild animals everywhere. From horses to cows to sheep and hares. We wanted to go near them, but the teachers didn’t allow us. Sadly, we spent most of our time just driving through the park and only stopped when we needed a bathroom break. We sat on the Postbridge bridge nearby and took a picture. And just like that, we were on our way again. Later we drove past Princetown, where there’s a functional prison, compared to the British prison Alcatraz. Half of the prison now serves as a museum.
