Experience:
Winchester is a historic city in England. It was once the capital of the country and is famous for its medieval architecture, beautiful cathedral, and lovely streets.
Before the trip, I didn’t know much about Winchester and wasn’t expecting anything special. But in the end, the city really surprised me in a good way.
As soon as we got off the bus, the place looked nice. The streets were clean, the houses looked old but well-kept, and everything felt calm but not boring. There were people sitting in cafés, walking around, and the whole city had a relaxed vibe.
Our first stop was Winchester Cathedral. Honestly, I thought it would be boring, and it kind of was. The building was huge and looked impressive inside, but I didn’t really care about Jane Austen’s grave since I’ve never read her book. Still, the atmosphere was peaceful and a bit mysterious, which was cool for a while.
Later, we walked around and went to Five Guys. I’ve been there before, so it wasn’t anything new for me, but the food was still really good. The burger was tasty, the fries were great, and even though it was expensive, it was worth it.
After eating, we had some more free time and relaxed in a park near the river. That part was really nice—quiet, relaxing, and a good break after walking around. Overall, I liked Winchester a lot more than I thought I would. It’s a calm, interesting place, and I’d visit it again.
What I liked:
Good food at Five Guys
Nice streets and chill atmosphere
Time to hang out with friends
What I didn’t like:
Pretty expensive everywhere
I didn’t really care about the Jane Austen grave, since I’ve never read her book
The shopping centre wasn’t great
