The document I will analyze in the coming paragraphs is "The anatomy of propaganda within religious terrorism" by Roderick Hindery. Although this document does not explicitly reference modern art, and wider media, it does touch upon the effects of indoctrination and the extents to which individuals will go to realize their system of beliefs. One ought to reference this document prior to my analysis for the text, independently, is of particular value.
The issue detailed within the document, that being the utilization of propaganda in the context of religious extremism, most notably in Islamic terrorism within Iraq & Catholic terrorism within Ireland, effects those who are currently living under the rule of a theocratic regime, or those who have been forced to confront theocratic forces within their nation. In short, the issue outlined in the document affects nearly everyone for theocratic forces have established themselves as a political force in nearly every nation presently recognized
I plan on using the evidence collected and outlined within this document in my research by referencing the manner in which propaganda influences perception; particularly of reality. Those who have been made victims of indoctrination are often compelled to commit acts that, under other circumstances, they would seldom commit. This is due to the fact that their perception of reality has been profoundly affected, and as a result they feel that certain, occasion violent, actions are warranted.
