Scratch Challenge

You are now going to start building your Scratch project. Your project is going to tell others about the amazing subject of Rivers. Use your own knowledge to create a Scratch program that will teach others about rivers.

Step 1

  • Insert an Appropriate Sprite into your Scratch environment that will be you tour guide.
  • Change the size of you Sprite to suit your background.

Step 2

Start the Coding Program with the correct Event so when you click the Flag the program starts.

Look at the different coding blocks and work out which of these will make the character say something.

Code your character so it will say Hello, introduce your character and Welcome the audience to the River Project and say this for an appropriate amount of time in Seconds.

Tell the audience what you are going to teach them today.

Step 3

Make sure your Sprite Character starts in the same place every time you run the program.

Change the costume when your Sprite is talking.

Step 4

Add a new Sprite to your program that shows some information you want to teach about rivers. This may be a map, or an image or a river. Find something on the internet and insert that image.

Code your character Sprite to send a message to your new image sprite after the speaking to the audience.

Tell the audience some information about the new image sprite and show the image.
